Interested in taking part in the 4th of July parade?

 

This year's parade will take place on July 4th
 

On behalf of the Darien Lions Club, I’m pleased to invite you to participate in our 51st annual Independence Day Parade.  Come out and join us in this celebration of our nation's independence.

 

Show our appreciation for all groups and individuals who work so hard to make both the United States and Darien terrific places to live.

 

Note: Our parade route will be the same as in 2022.  The parade participants will line up in the Jewel parking lot at 75th and Cass Ave.  The parade will proceed north on Cass Avenue to 71st Street.  At 71st Street, the parade will head east until Clarendon Hills Road where it will go south toward the end point at Hinsdale South High School.  Pick up of participants after the parade will be at Hinsdale South High School.

Parade entrants will assemble in the Jewel Parking lot beginning at 8:15 am for the parade lineup. The Parade will begin PROMPTLY at 9:30 am and follow the parade route described above.  It will be the responsibility of each participant to provide their own vehicle for the Parade. Signs for vehicles will be provided only for officials from the City of Darien and Lions Club Honorees. All other participants are expected to provide signage for their own entry. It is recommended that parade participants provide water bottles or any refreshments of their choosing for anyone representing their organization.  As you know the 4th of July can be very hot so please make sure that your members are hydrated.  No water will be provided to parade participants by the Lions Club.

All entrants must complete and submit a Parade Application form and return a signed copy acknowledging the Parade Rules to the parade chairman by June 19. Please complete the form with your comments for the Master of Ceremonies to read when passing the Reviewing Stand in the parade.

The Lions Club is asking for Voluntary Contributions to help offset our Parade costs.  Mail your checks payable to the Darien Lions Club and send to the Parade Chairman’s address listed below.

Days prior to the parade the Chairman will issue any needed COVID-19 protocol for the parade in accordance with State Health Dept and CDC guidelines
