Spinoza … the Bear with a Heart, found a home Wednesday, April 27th.  A 2 1/2 year old, terminally ill little girl named Debbie, welcomed Spinoza into her home and heart.  She has been diagnosed with a terminal form of cancer that will eventually claim her life.  Debbie and her family live in the Darien area.  Debbie was found through a cooperative effort of the Darien Lions Club and the Darien Kiwanis Club.

Spinoza is a talking teddy bear who has lots of great things to say and sing songs about! He is very engaging and fun to listen to. He will speak to Debbie and will want to know her name. He wants to be her friend.

The secret to Spinoza is a library of nine original cassette tapes. These contain fun stories and songs that instill self worth; give positive reinforcement; are motivating; help open communication; can be relaxing and comforting, or energizing and invigorating.

Lion Bill O’Malley and wife Debbie donated this Spinoza Buddy Bear to our Lions Club three years ago.
