Christmas Baskets 2008

Fourth of July Parade | DarienFest | Candy Day | Pancake Breakfast

    The Darien Lions Club distributed holiday food baskets and Christmas presents to 120 needy families on December 20, 2008.  Non perishable food items were collected by the students of Hinsdale South High School.  Christmas presents for children were donated and wrapped by the Darien Park District. Hams and turkeys were donated by Dan Kaminski of Darien's Culvers Restaurant Perishable items such as fruit, vegetables and milk were donated by the Darien Lions Club.  
    On Friday, December 19, Lions Club members and volunteers met at the Marion Hills Park District Facility and sorted and packed all of the food items.  On Saturday morning, Lions Club members and volunteers packed all of the bags, boxes, and presents into their personal vehicles and delivered all of these items.
This year's event will take place on December 19, 2009 and will be chaired by Lion Tony Gricus.

Last year's chairman was Wayne Scharnak.
