Congratulations of the highest order go to Lion Ray Krusinski recipient of the 2010 George Lazansky Distinguished Award in District 1-J. The prestigious award is named to remember Lion George Lazansky who served as District 1-J's first Governor in 1951-52.
Nominees of this award are Lions who have not only excelled in their contribution to their Club and community, but have served and demonstrated Lionism at the District and State level or have performed some outstanding humanitarian achievement. Lion Ray has served as our Club President from 2002-2003 and was named Lion of the Year in 2004. He is a Lions of Illinois Foundation Fellow and is a recipient of the International President’s Award. He served as a Lions of Illinois Foundation Trustee from District 1-J and on the District Cabinet, as well as being one of the founders of the District 1-J Walk for Sight. He has been a mentor and is an inspiration to those who have succeeded him on the Darien Lions Club Board of Directors. Our club is proud to honor Lion Ray Krusinski for achieving the George Lazansky Award this year. Lion Ray (shown with his wife Jeanne) was presented with his award at the District 1-J Convention held in April of 2010.
